Ingredients

Ingredients:

Steps

  1. For the srikaya jam, put 100 g of granulated sugar, 25 g of cornstarch, 4 egg yolks, 300 ml of pandan juice, and 200 ml of thick coconut milk into a pot, then stir until evenly combined.
  2. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt, then stir again until evenly combined.
  3. Cook over medium heat while stirring constantly until it thickens, then lower the heat and continue cooking until it boils, turns glossy, and starts to bubble.
  4. Turn off the heat, transfer the mixture to another container, cover the surface with plastic while it is hot, then leave it to cool.
  5. For the steamed bread, stir 300 g of low protein wheat flour, 60 g of granulated sugar, and 1 1/4 teaspoons of instant yeast until evenly combined.
  6. Add 60 ml of cooking oil, 140 ml of cold liquid milk, and 1 egg yolk, then mix at medium speed for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  7. Roll the dough into a smooth ball, then shape it into an oval.
  8. Place the dough into a tin that has been greased with cooking oil and lined with baking paper, cover it with a clean cloth, then let it rest for about 30 to 40 minutes until it doubles in size.
  9. Steam for about 50 minutes over medium heat until the bread is cooked through.
  10. Take the tin out of the steamer, let it stand briefly until just warm, then run a knife around the edge and turn the bread out of the tin.
  11. Slice the bread and serve it warm with the pandan srikaya jam.
