Ingredients

Steps

  1. Melt the margarine over a pot with a little hot water, then set it aside.
  2. Put the eggs, sugar, and emulsifier into a bowl.
  3. Beat on maximum speed for about 10 minutes until the batter is pale, risen, thick, and holds a ribbon.
  4. Add the wheat flour and milk powder, sifting them in so there are no lumps.
  5. Stir briefly first so the flour does not fly about, then beat on the lowest speed until evenly combined.
  6. Carry on folding with a spatula to make sure the batter is evenly combined.
  7. Add the cooking oil to the melted margarine, then stir until combined.
  8. Stir a little of the batter into the margarine and oil mixture until combined, then pour it back into the main batter.
  9. Add the pandan paste, then fold gently until evenly combined so the batter stays thick.
  10. Grease a 24 cm round tin with tin greasing paste, or with margarine dusted with flour, then pour in the batter.
  11. Tap the tin several times so the trapped air can escape and the cake has a fine crumb, then smooth the batter with a skewer.
  12. Bake in a preheated oven at 150 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat for about 45 to 50 minutes until the cake is done.
  13. Test with a skewer to make sure the cake is done, then take the tin out of the oven.
  14. Turn the cake out of the tin while still hot, then leave it to cool completely before spreading with cream.
  15. Whip the cold liquid whipping cream on maximum speed for about three minutes until it holds as cream.
  16. Spread the cooled cake with the cream, then scatter over grated cheese and chocolate sprinkles.
  17. Slice the cake as you like, then serve.
