  1. Steam 700 g peeled and washed cassava until cooked, about 20-25 minutes.
  2. Mash the steamed cassava with a potato masher until soft like mashed potato.
  3. Heat 600 ml cooking oil.
  4. Mix the mashed cassava with 250 g palm sugar, stir well, add grated coconut, vanilla powder, and 1 tsp salt, mix again.
  5. Dissolve the Desaku turmeric powder and Ladaku ground pepper with 1 tbsp hot water, mix with the thick coconut milk, stir well.
  6. Mix the seasoned coconut milk solution into the cassava mixture, stir until fully absorbed.
  7. Make a dipping batter from 60 g rice flour, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and 150 ml water, stir until dissolved and not too thick.
  8. Shape the cassava mixture into flat rounds by hand.
  9. Dip the shapes into the batter, then fry directly in hot oil until a nice color and a crisp surface.
  10. Remove and drain the fried getuk, serve.
