- Sisir/potong kecil gula merah agar mudah larut.

- Boil the cut-up cassava in water first (it has the toughest texture of the three).
- While waiting, cut the sweet potato to about the same size as the cassava, and cut the plantain to a similar size too.
- Check the cassava's doneness by poking it with a fork; once it's fairly tender, add the sweet potato, cover again, and cook for about 10 more minutes until the sweet potato is tender, then turn off the heat and remove.
- Shave/chop the palm sugar into small pieces so it dissolves more easily.
- Pour about 1 liter of full cream milk into a pot, add the shaved palm sugar, add plenty of pandan leaves, and bring to a boil until the sugar dissolves.
- Add a little salt, and taste for sweetness before adding the cassava, sweet potato, and plantain.
- Add the cassava, sweet potato, and plantain (the plantain doesn't need pre-boiling since its texture is already soft), cook over low heat while stirring constantly so the milk doesn't split, until it simmers gently without boiling over.
- Once everything is tender and cooked through, serve.
