Steps

  1. Prepare a blender, tear or cut 8 slices of crustless white bread into small pieces, then put them into the blender.
  2. Add 2 medium eggs, 250 ml water and 300 ml liquid milk, then blend until smooth and set aside.
  3. Prepare a fairly large pot, add 2 packets of white agar-agar powder and 150 g granulated sugar, then stir first until evenly combined.
  4. Add 250 g sweetened condensed milk and 1 litre of water, then stir until evenly combined.
  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it comes to a boil.
  6. Once boiling, add the blended bread mixture, then cook again, stirring constantly, until it boils and thickens.
  7. Turn off the heat, add 3 tbsp margarine, then stir until the margarine melts and is evenly combined.
  8. Divide the mixture into two equal parts, taking care because it is still very hot.
  9. Add 1 tbsp pandan paste to one part and stir until evenly combined, leaving the other part uncoloured.
  10. Rinse a round tin with water so the pudding is easier to turn out and does not stick.
  11. Pour one ladle of the green mixture into the centre of the tin, then pour the white mixture slowly right into the centre.
  12. Keep pouring the green and white mixtures alternately into the centre until all of it is used up, stirring each mixture first if it starts to thicken.
  13. Leave the tin without sliding, shaking or lifting it for about 2 hours until the pudding sets, so the pattern is not ruined.
  14. Once the pudding has firmed up, chill it in the fridge until cold.
  15. Turn the tin over onto a plate then lift it away slowly, then slice the pudding with a sharp knife.
