Ingredients

Topping:

Steps

  1. For the chocolate cake, combine 110 gr wheat flour, 40 gr cocoa powder, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp baking soda in a bowl, then sift.
  2. Add 200 gr granulated sugar and 1/2 tsp salt, and stir until evenly combined.
  3. Add 2 eggs, 60 ml cooking oil, 125 ml liquid milk, and 1 tsp vanilla, and stir until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  4. Dissolve 1 tsp coffee in 80 ml hot water and stir until evenly combined.
  5. Pour the still-hot coffee into the batter and stir until evenly combined.
  6. Add 1 tbsp lime or lemon juice and stir again until evenly combined.
  7. Lightly grease a pan with margarine, line it with baking paper, then pour in the batter.
  8. Tap the pan a few times so trapped air can escape.
  9. Steam in a steamer whose water is already boiling for about 40 minutes over medium-low heat, with the steamer lid wrapped in a clean cloth.
  10. Do a skewer test; once no batter sticks, lift out the cake, remove it from the pan, peel off the baking paper, then let it cool.
  11. For the second layer, melt 150 gr dark cooking chocolate over a pot of boiling water, stir until smooth, then let it cool.
  12. Whip 300 ml cold liquid whipping cream for about 5 minutes until thick and stiff.
  13. Add the cooled melted chocolate, mix until evenly combined, then transfer the cream into a piping bag.
  14. Once the cake is cool, cut it to fit the box, then place it in the box as the first layer.
  15. Pipe the chocolate whipped cream over the cake, level and compact it with a spoon, then wipe the sides of the box clean with tissue or a dry cloth.
  16. Close the box and keep it in the fridge while you make the third layer.
  17. For the third layer, put 300 ml liquid milk and 100 ml cold liquid whipping cream in a pot and stir until evenly combined.
  18. Cook over low heat while stirring constantly until hot; it does not need to boil.
  19. Add 350 gr dark cooking chocolate and 1 tbsp cocoa powder, and cook while stirring until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth, then turn off the heat.
  20. Let the chocolate mixture cool, then take the box out of the fridge.
  21. Pour the chocolate mixture evenly over the chocolate whipped cream layer.
  22. Close the box and store it on a fridge shelf overnight.
  23. Sprinkle chocochips on top and serve.
