Ingredients

Steps

  1. Grease the rice cooker pot with margarine, dust it thinly with wheat flour, then line it with baking paper and set it aside.
  2. Put the sugar, eggs, and emulsifier into a bowl.
  3. Beat on maximum speed for about six minutes until the batter is pale, risen, thick, and holds a ribbon.
  4. Add part of the sifted wheat flour and milk powder, then add the vanilla powder.
  5. Beat on the lowest speed or fold with a spatula until evenly combined.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk and beat again, then add the remaining flour, milk powder, and coconut milk alternately while beating on the lowest speed until evenly combined.
  7. Turn off the mixer, add the pandan paste, then fold from the bottom up until no liquid is left settling at the bottom of the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the rice cooker pot.
  9. Level the batter and move a skewer in circles through it to break the air bubbles inside.
  10. Tap the base of the pot so the batter settles evenly, then put the pot into the rice cooker.
  11. Press the cook button until the light comes on to start cooking.
  12. Once the button flips to warm, wait about four to five minutes until the cook button can be pressed again, then press it once more.
  13. Repeat this until the cake is done, for a total cooking time of about 35 minutes.
  14. Open the rice cooker, test with a skewer to make sure the cake is done, then lift the pot out of the rice cooker.
  15. Turn the cake out of the pot, peel off the baking paper, then let it cool before slicing.
