Steps

  1. Grease a 20x20 cm tin thinly with margarine, then line it with baking paper and set aside.
  2. Put 50 g margarine, 150 g dark cooking chocolate chopped small, and 40 ml cooking oil into a bowl.
  3. Set the bowl over a pot of boiling water until the chocolate and margarine melt, then stir until evenly combined and set aside.
  4. Put 2 eggs and 150 g blended granulated sugar into a bowl, then stir until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Add the melted chocolate once the steam has gone, then stir again until evenly combined and the batter thickens.
  6. Sift 100 g wheat flour and 35 g cocoa powder into the batter, then stir until evenly combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the tin, keeping a little back for the top layer, then level it with a spatula.
  8. Put 200 g cream cheese that has stood at room temperature for about 1 hour and 50 g margarine into a bowl.
  9. Stir with a whisk or a mixer on low speed until evenly combined and smooth in texture.
  10. Add 1 egg yolk, then stir again until evenly combined.
  11. Add 30 g wheat flour, then stir again until evenly combined.
  12. Pour the cream cheese mixture into the tin, then level it with a spatula or a spoon.
  13. Spoon the reserved chocolate batter over the top, then swirl a pattern with a fork.
  14. Scatter over the sliced almonds, then tap the tin a few times to release the trapped air.
  15. Preheat the oven for about 10 minutes, then bake on the bottom rack at 175 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat for about 25 minutes.
  16. Once the edges have pulled away from the tin and the top is browned, take the tin out of the oven.
  17. Being careful as it is still hot, peel the baking paper off the brownies, then let them cool.
  18. Once cool, cut the brownies to the size you like and serve.
