Ingredients

Steps

  1. Put the eggs, sugar, and emulsifier into a bowl.
  2. Beat on maximum speed for about 10 minutes until the batter is risen, thick, and holds a ribbon.
  3. Divide the batter into two equal parts.
  4. Sift the wheat flour and cornstarch into one part of the batter.
  5. Stir briefly first so the flour does not fly about, then beat for about 20 seconds on the lowest speed and carry on folding with a spatula.
  6. Add the sweetened condensed milk, cooking oil, and pandan paste.
  7. Fold gently from the bottom up until no liquid is left settling in the batter, then set it aside.
  8. Sift the black glutinous rice flour and black cocoa powder into the other part of the batter, then stir until evenly combined.
  9. Add the cooking oil and sweetened condensed milk, then fold from the bottom up until evenly combined.
  10. Bring water to a boil in the steamer over medium heat.
  11. Grease a 24 cm round tin with a thin layer of margarine, then pour the two batters into the tin alternately.
  12. Steam for about 30 minutes over medium heat until the cake is done, with the steamer lid wrapped in a clean cloth so condensation does not drip onto the batter.
  13. Test with a skewer to make sure the cake is done, then take the tin out of the steamer.
  14. Turn the cake out of the tin while still hot.
  15. Once the cake is cool, slice it and serve.
