Ingredients

Cake Ingredients:

Steps

  1. Heat water in a pot, then melt 200 g of margarine over it and set it aside.
  2. Put 200 g of granulated sugar, 6 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of emulsifier into a bowl.
  3. Beat on maximum speed for about 7 to 10 minutes until the batter is pale, risen, thick, and holds a trail.
  4. Add 200 g of wheat flour and 25 g of milk powder, then stir it in by hand first so the flour does not fly about.
  5. Mix on the lowest speed until the batter is evenly combined.
  6. Add the melted margarine, 1 and a half teaspoons of pandan paste, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla, then keep mixing on the lowest speed until evenly combined.
  7. Go on folding the batter gently with a spatula until it is evenly combined with no liquid settled at the bottom.
  8. Pour the batter into a 24 cm tin greased thinly with margarine.
  9. Level the batter with a skewer to break the air bubbles so the cake has a fine crumb.
  10. Steam the cake for about 15 minutes over medium heat in a steamer that is already boiling.
  11. Put 200 g of spreadable cheese and 50 g of sweetened condensed milk into a bowl, then stir until evenly combined.
  12. Transfer the cheese mixture to a piping bag.
  13. After about 15 minutes of steaming, take the tin out of the steamer then score a channel with a knife to make a hollow.
  14. Pipe the cheese mixture into the hollow, then cover it with the remaining cake batter.
  15. Level the batter with a spoon or spatula, then carry on steaming for about 30 minutes over medium heat until the cake is done.
  16. Do a skewer test, then lift the tin out of the steamer.
  17. While it is still hot, turn the cake out of the tin.
  18. Drizzle melted white chocolate over the top so it looks prettier.
