Steps

Steps were generated from the video narration. Watch the video if unsure.

  1. Wash the strawberries, dry them, and remove the stems.
  2. Portion the red bean paste into about 20 gram pieces.
  3. Flatten each piece of bean paste and wrap it around a strawberry until sealed.
  4. Cover the wrapped strawberries so they do not dry out and set them aside.
  5. Heat the steamer.
  6. Mix the glutinous rice flour with sugar, salt, and oil.
  7. Pour in the strawberry milk and stir until completely smooth.
  8. Add a touch of pink colouring so it does not look pale.
  9. Oil the steaming dish lightly and pour in the mochi batter.
  10. Steam for 30 minutes until cooked.
  11. Take out the cooked mochi and move it onto a non-stick mat.
  12. Knead the mochi while hot until it becomes smooth and no longer coarse.
  13. Dust with toasted cornstarch and knead briefly by hand.
  14. Portion the mochi into about 20 to 25 gram pieces.
  15. Flatten each piece with cornstarch-dusted hands or a spatula.
  16. Set a wrapped strawberry point down on the mochi, then wrap it up and pinch the bottom closed.
